Breaking J.K. Rowling News of the Day: News from the industry vine this morning is that J.K. Rowling has officially signed a book deal with Little, Brown, and will soon be releasing her highly anticipated Harry Potter follow up.
No word yet on title, plot, or publication date, but word is that the book’s target audience will be adults.
“Although I’ve enjoyed writing it every bit as much, my next book will be very different to the Harry Potter series,” said the author in a press release.
The freedom to explore new territory is a gift that Harry’s success has brought me, and with that new territory it seemed a logical progression to have a new publisher. I am delighted to have a second publishing home in Little, Brown, and a publishing team that will be a great partner in this new phase of my writing life.

I’ve noticed in a lot of reblogs of this that people seem to think that she’s writing a harry potter continuation for adults (I blame the bad wording in this article, even I did a double take)
but when you follow the link in the first paragraph you see that it’s actually just that she’s writing her first book that wont be harry potter - and also unlike potter, it will be aimed at adults.
Holy shit guys…
Aw, that sounds exciting. I always liked her style, the only problem was that the books turned more commercial towards...
